I study how organizational leaders and entrepreneurs develop innovation-driven, AI-powered business ecosystems to transform the prospects of disadvantaged populations, empowering them to mobilize resources, access opportunities, build leverage, amplify impact, and shape the future economy. My research examines questions at the intersections of leadership, entrepreneurship, morality, and technology and work. I use complementary methods, including field and lab/online experiments, field surveys, large-scale archival data, and computational text analysis.
I am currently an Associate Professor of Management at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University. I earned my PhD from the National University of Singapore and completed a postdoc at Washington University in St. Louis.
My research team is looking for research assistants with a strong interest in pursuing phd in leadership, entrepreneurship, or technology and work. Please email your CV and a brief cover letter to liaozhenyu@northeastern.edu.
